Why Are FIFA Titles Out and Being Replaced By EA Sports FC?
If you have not followed the news for the FIFA games, then you might not know that EA Sports failed to reach an agreement with FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) over licensing. FIFA 23 became the last title under the name for EA Sports. While EA begins to explore football under a new brand, FIFA has announced they will be looking for a new developer to bring authentic football video games to players.
It appears a strong competition might be brewing between the two major companies, which could be an exciting turn of events for major sports fans. EA Sports FC is already working on an upper hand, with exclusive partnerships involving: Major League Soccer, the Premier League, La Liga, and more.
Given the fact both EA and FIFA are working against each other on future football features, it appears their partnership has come to a conclusion. The two companies will likely not come back together any time soon, unless their titles fail as a result of the split. EA Sports and FIFA will be determined to show fans they are more than a brand name, as developments continue. Another factor that will be involved will certainly involve exclusivity deals.
Although EA nabbed some major players already, there is no way to tell how long those deals will last. And while FIFA believes in its’ own brand, there may be a greater call to bring more leagues into the fold to secure the best sales possible.
