The controversial EA messed up once again, this time, targeting the servers of big games like Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and Dante’s Inferno which were silently eliminated with the intent to cut costs to the detriment of fans of their franchises.
Whilst this isn’t unexpected or even irregular news, it is disappointing, with Crysis 3 especially still being semi-popular in certain circles.
EA game servers like Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and Dantes Inferno will be shut down due to cost cuts
Knowing EA well, this attitude does not come as a surprise to the gamer community, the company has even done this a few times in the past with games like Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 which will lose their multiplayer modes later this year. The distributor is known for prioritizing its profits over its buyers, which is not unique to EA, but its way of blatantly demonstrating is less seen in the industry.
This will take the active audience for these games away after a few weeks when the servers are still up. In order, the games to lose their multiplayer connection are Crysis 3 on September 7th and Dead Space 2, and Dante’s Inferno on December 8th. EA has not officially commented on the shutdowns.

Dead Space, although its series is recognized for its single-player mode, Dead Space 2‘s multiplayer was highly acclaimed by players who enjoyed facing humans or necromorphs, defending, or completing their objectives during a fight for survival. At the very least, fans hope can lie in the Dead Space 2 remake that can bring a fresh coat of paint to the game.
The classic FPS, Crysis 3, had a game of objective or team deathmatch and its remastered version of the game did not bring the multiplayer, which with the servers taken down in December, will be offline forever. Dante’s Inferno is another lesser-known, but still fun multiplayer, which made it possible to destroy demons alongside your friend and now it will also remain only in the memory.

As we know, unfortunately, nothing lasts forever and the fun times will still be in the memories of all the players who spent time with friends enjoying the titles. And if you still want to play a little more, the servers will still be available for the nostalgic return or farewell of current players for a few weeks.
As always, we can criticize EA for its practices, which, in addition to taking the public’s fun just to save money on an already very rich company, still doesn’t even notify the community of its actions. Preferring to act silently for fans to find out and then not comment on the matter.
