Dwayne Johnson Refused Wrestling Against Brock Lesnar

A year after Dwayne Johnson faced a crashing defeat by John Cena in WrestleMania 29, he was supposed to have a huge dream match at WrestleMania 30. Waiting for Johnson to avenge his previous defeat in WrestleMania 29 against John Cena, WWE wanted to have The Rock go one-on-one with Lesnar. Unfortunately, since the 51-year-old tore his abdomen during his WWE Championship loss, he couldn’t risk getting attacked by Lesnar. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer stated,

The Rock was going to star WrestleMania in 2014 with Brock Lesnar and, in fact, they were going to kick off the rivalry with an angle where Lesnar completely destroyed him on the Raw the day after WrestleMania 29 in 2013, but Rock was injured.”
