The world of WWE regards Roman Reigns as a top-notch pro wrestler who has moved up the ranks of success significantly over the years. A six-time world champion in the sport, he was crowned as the longest-reigning Universal Champion not too long ago in 2022.
Given his glorious track record, one can imagine just how generous the reward would be. All these wins are bound to pay off after all. But perhaps what’s more striking is where he chooses to spend said money because the immediate answer to that certainly doesn’t entail cancer foundations and charity work. You know what they say though, people are full of surprises.
Roman Reigns – A Leukemia Survivor Who Helps Children Battling Cancer
While Roman Reigns was first diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 22, it was in 2018 that the former American football player announced his battle with the disease. The Big Dog rendered the entirety of the WWE universe stupefied when he relinquished his Universal Championship to treat the condition. Fortunately enough, The Tribal Chief returned to the ring just months after his departure, reassuring fans that his cancer was in remission.
Ever since, the Hobbs & Shaw star, who also belongs to the same wrestling family as the former WWE icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has dedicated himself to helping kids undergoing similar circumstances. He joined forces with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support LLS’ Children’s Initiative which strives to address the growing need for “new and better treatments for pediatric cancer patients.”
As an advocate for blood cancer patients, he is also known to visit children who are cancer survivors and aid them through their battle in any way he can. Besides that, Roman Reigns is also an active contributor to the Make-A-Wish foundation and was named a recipient of the Chris Greicius Award for Celebrity Wish in 2021 by the organization.
How Much Does the WWE Star Earn?
Leati Joseph “Joe” Anoaʻi, more famously known by his ring name, Roman Reigns, is one of the most popular figures in the world of wrestling. While he signed a contract with WWE back in 2010 and made his televised debut as Roman Leakee (he’d later go on to change his ring name to Roman Reigns), his first appearance on the main roster television was in November. As for his ascend to fame and recognition, it was only after 2014 that the 38-year-old’s name earned some weight.

After over a decade of busted knuckles crystallizing into celebrated championships, the professional wrestler is currently one of the most well-paid WWE stars, sitting on a fortune of roughly $20 million. While the company provides the Big Dog with a handsome compensation of about $1.2 million a year, the gross figure that he ends up bagging rounds up to $5 million annually, which also happens to be one of the highest-paying contracts in WWE.
It’s heartwarming to know that he puts a decent amount of that money to good use.
