Dwayne Johnson’s incredible range as not just an actor but as a Wrestling personality as well is more than enough to prove his astounding worth. But while the WWE icon and Hollywood superstar is widely respected and commended, some MMA personalities have been highly critical of him, including the beloved Nate Diaz, who always loves to pick rivalry with The Rock.
And once again, the notorious Diaz brothers have left no stone unturned in puncturing Johnson’s ego as they left him standing uncomfortably on the stage after ignoring him by refusing to shake hands with him.
Nate Diaz Ignored Dwayne Johnson And Dissed Him After Losing UFC 244
When the topic of UFC pops up, Nate Diaz’s name drives all the fans crazy, judging from how he rarely disappoints his fans – winning his every fight and making his every appearance worth enjoying. So when he lost the UFC 244 to Jorge Masvidal because the doctor stopped the fight due to his eye laceration, Diaz was obviously pissed.
Igniting rivalry with Dwayne Johnson, the Stockton Slugger first made him uncomfortable after ignoring him and not shaking hands with him. Later, seeing the Rock present the BMF belt to his buddy Masvidal put him in a further sour mood. During an interview after the fight, Nate Diaz hilariously slated him, saying,
“F**k The Rock too, man. That motherf**ker over here playing me. See him over here smiling with Masvidal. Should have had Mike Tyson handing out a belt if anybody. I don’t give a f**k about any belt anyway, but he can get it too.”
The Rock too stepped up to respond to the formidable machine’s dissing, except in a calmer way. He said,
“He is as advertised. Nate, he gets it. He knows that me and Jorge we’re boys, we’re from Miami. We have a lot of deep connections down there. A lot of the fighters we know, a lot of the coaches and trainers that we know, a lot of the gyms that we’ve been to down there. So there’s a connection, so no I was totally fine with it. He gets it.”
But that wasn’t the only time that Nate Diaz did something to slam and call out Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson.
Nate Diaz Trashed The Rock’s Shoes As Well
Last year, news about Dwayne Johnson collaborating with the UFC to make Under Armour’s ‘Project Rock’ its official footwear set the MMA community abuzz. While the WWE icon found himself surrounded by much criticism following this deal, Nate Diaz too found this as a good opportunity to once again get back at him.
During a backstage interview, he set off in a rant, trashing the millionaire megastar’s ‘Project Rock’ shoes. Diaz said,
“These shoes f****** suck! Look at these shoes. They made me put this s*** on. F*** these shoes!”
While no other fighter could ever muster up enough courage to show his disdain toward the organization, this just reminds us how Nate Diaz isn’t one of those who stay quiet, but rather one of those who love to be rebellious, regardless of the outcome.
