In the Marvel Universe, even the most powerful villains ultimately lose, and few losses were as horrifying as when Thanos was mercilessly slain by Dr Doom during the Secret Wars event. Dr Doom tore Thanos’ skeleton from his body, murdering him in a matter of seconds due to the Mad Titan’s haughtiness, desire for power, and lack of respect for the formidable foe.
Dr Doom Violates Thanos: The Eternal-Deviant Warlord
In 2015’s Secret Wars event, the normal Earth-616 and Earth-1610 were the only realities left after Marvel’s multiverse was shattered in the comic. Battleword, which housed the last bits of the devastated universes, was where the heroes who had survived were taken.
Dr Doom, who had received an upgrade from the Beyonders, governed Battleword like a deity. Thanos, who erred in facing the old foe of the Fantastic Four and refusing his offer of clemency, was one villain who wasn’t pleased with Doom’s rule.
After getting through Doom’s defenses, Thanos confronted him. Thanos laughs at Doom as he gives him the option to maintain his horde in exchange for his fealty. He explains to Dr Doom that he held the Infinity Gauntlet when he was a god and made the decision not to use the abilities as a “mortal” as he would have.
In an apparent dig at Doom, the Warlord said that he used his power to judge all living creatures, branding him a “weak god” and a “pretender”. Thanos even instructs Doom to kneel before him which only resulted in him losing his life. Dr. Doom pulls Thanos’ spine out of his body, quickly killing him, after asking whether he has the gauntlet on him and being informed negative.
Dr Doom’s Entry Into MCU via Secret Wars?
No matter how much one may despise Doctor Victor von Doom’s intentions, his goals, and ultimate objective do make sense. Doctor Doom is one of those villains whose actions, while totally evil, serve as a way of protecting the world from an even larger menace.
One simply needs to wait to see where Marvel has finally opted to take its audience in terms of Doctor Doom’s conclusion given that the villain is most frequently connected with the Fantastic Four superhero team and considering that Kevin Feige has announced the entrance of the eccentric squad into the mainstream storyline.
Avengers from all periods in time may appear in the Secret Wars series since it involves a time loop. In the comic books, we witness the superheroes’ younger selves, chosen from the previous timeline, battling their more mature selves.
Heroes and villains from the present timeline are found being eliminated one by one in the final moments of their lives and then being brought back to wage battle with people from their own time. It really does function as a multiverse of madness.
