After gaining recognition for TV series, such as Once Upon a Time and The Fall, Jamie Dornan landed the lead role in the film adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey alongside Dakota Johnson. The 2015 film developed into a $1.3 billion trilogy and has become the actor’s most popular role. Before taking it big in the film industry, like many other Hollywood stars, he also struggled a bit.
However, The Fall actor shared the same feeling with his friend circle, which also included Robert Pattinson. The Batman actor has opened up about feeling left out of the group, and the 41-year-old actor clarified the situation at the Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet.
Dakota Johnson’s Co-Star Has a Long-Standing Friendship Circle
Before starring in the Fifty Shades of Grey film series with Dakota Johnson along with other projects, Jamie Dornan was waiting for his big break in the industry with his friends. He lived with a group of aspiring actors, including Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, Eddie Redmayne, and Charlie Cox.
He has shared that they lived together during the late 2000s when all of them were struggling to make it big in Hollywood. The actor has shared that they helped each other prepare for a role and even went on to audition for the same role several times.
While Dornan claimed that the whole group was pretty close to each other, the Twilight star seemingly denied the claims, saying that he often felt excluded by the rest of the friends. “They were all roommates, and I was kind of the last one invited,” Pattinson said.
He shared that he was invited as an “afterthought,” claiming that he felt like the rest of his friends were enjoying everything without him. However, Dornan has shared otherwise, as he explained the reason why The Lighthouse actor might have felt that.

Jamie Dornan Reveals Why Robert Pattinson Was Invited Last
While talking to ET Online at the Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet, Jamie Dornan revealed the back story about why his friend Robert Pattinson felt left out. He shared that among all of them, the 37-year-old English actor was the first to be successful after he starred in the Twilight franchise.
“No! The pity invite? No,” he said. He explained that his growing popularity and success led them to question if he would fit in their group anymore. “I think with Rob it’s always been like, he sort of had success earlier, so we were a bit like, ‘Does he really fit in with us?” he shared.
The Tourist star also shared that while he and others did not have much to do, the Twilight star was often working, and it also became the reason they were not able to catch up often. However, over the years, all of them have found great success in the industry and have had great achievements in the industry.
