The owner of Twitter, Tesla, and SpaceX Elon Musk always has his name going viral for one reason or another, all the time. Be it his controversial tweets, interviews, or even his controversial decisions that people absolutely do not agree with.
However, there is one interview clip that’s been spreading around these days that has garnered a lot of attention. And although it contains nothing new but him stating his love for anime, there was something more he said, that sounds quite concerning if not straight-up condescending.
Elon Musk’s viral video of his vehement anime appreciation
Elon Musk always had quite a lot to share regarding his thoughts on his areas of expertise. Be it investing, home owning, traveling to Mars, manufacturing, or even building “an exciting future,” he tends to give a lot of pointers.
Interestingly, there is an interview clip going viral these days where he was asked about what other things he enjoys. Specifically, his thoughts on anime. And he, obviously, had something to say about that as well. He noted,
“I think it’s pretty cool, people who say that it’s for kids are not intellectually inclined. Hence the reason I’m rich, and they’re homeless.”
Now, that was a bold statement to make. Not only because of his trying to establish his superior intellect once again but also because he degraded people who suffer the misfortune of being homeless.
As a result, the Twitter owner is once again going viral on the app, but for the wrong reasons. However, a deeper dive into the video implies something else altogether.
After some extensive hours of research trying to get to the bottom of it, it turns out that the video is nothing but a spoof made for entertainment purposes.

Elon Musk has a list of his favorite anime
Well, turns out that although the video was a spoof, Elon Musk does have some serious affection for anime. A few years ago, he made his love for the 2D characters known in a Twitter thread.
Not only that, but he even made some recommendations for others. Starting with a tweet stating, “I love(black heart emoji) anime,” he went on to list his favorites in the following thread.
Featuring Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name, Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, and even Death Note, he impressed anime fans with his knowledge.
In fact, he also insisted on his preference for being called Elon-chan, when someone tried to give him a nickname. Stating his excitement at being featured in Genshin Impact, he also admitted that he would love to build a Mecha someday.
Well, although the video was fake, his love for anime surely is not. And to be very honest, although anime is not for everybody as different people have different preferences, it is also a matter of finding the right fit for themselves.
So, for people who want to take a dive into that world, it would be easier to find a genre they really enjoy and dip their toes into it little by little.
