For many Diablo players, there is one phrase that will put fear into their hearts, and that is “Fresh meat”, which is the calling card of The Butcher, a randomised boss that can appear in any dungeon at any time with a full boss health bar and many abilities that many would call ridiculously overpowered. Still, many gamers have rediscovered an old trick that was even used back in Diablo 1, which had players use the scenery to their advantage by blocking the butcher behind doors or walls or just leading him around a pillar.
Why is Diablo IV’s The Butcher so scary, and why does this trick work?
In Diablo IV, The Butcher is one of the most intimidating boss enemies that has been around since the first Diablo game and is still an intimidating boss even in Diablo IV as it has caused many gamers to die throughout their long playthroughs of Diablo IV, but now many gamers have rediscovered an old tactic of kiting The Butcher to a door frame or a pillar and causing him to collide with it. This may seem like a simple solution and shouldn’t work, but The Butcher has an issue with its tracking and can get caught on the simplest scenery and will not act.
Normally The Butcher has numerous stun attacks and heavy damage-dealing abilities, which make him quite a nuisance to deal with, but thanks to this trick, he no longer uses skills and cannot hurt players, especially if he is stuck behind a locked door and cannot see the player, but they can see him. Thanks to this trick dealing with The Butcher seems a lot less scary and has made the game slightly easier for now until this cheese gets patched, but it may stay the same as it is a rather ingenious technique to help players fight a tough enemy.
Are there any other ways to cheese The Butcher
So far, many gamers have been testing a few different ways that they can cheese The Butcher, and a few gamers have created a few tried and tested methods that The Butcher can be cheesed. Another way to cheese The Butcher is by using a ladder in a dungeon to access a higher elevation and by using ranged abilities, The Butcher will stand still and will be damageable; this isn’t fully reliable as if the player goes too far, The Butcher could either de-spawn or manage to teleport location and chase them down.
Although these methods are a lot simpler many gamers will dislike the use of them as they will feel it is not in the spirit of the game, but speaking as someone who has played Diablo IV and died to The Butcher at inconvenient moments, sometimes a slight cheese might be necessary to save your characters life and even though it may not be respectful to The Butcher it does give players some sweet loot.
