What’s the latest News on Deltarune?

Deltarune
Chapter 3 of Deltarune is nearing completion, according to Toby Fox.

In the most recent newsletter, Toby Fox had the following to say about the upcoming Chapter:

“Can’t say it’s finished yet, but the unfinished parts are certainly seeming less and less numerous. That’s good because try as I might to sleep, until the game is finished, I’ll see nothing but nightmares…

Fox gave more details about Deltarune by touching on some content that isn’t going to make the final cut:

“Earlier, we were considering having a stealth-focused section in the game where you would slowly, slowly sneak around certain areas. After developing some concepts, we realized a mechanic which basically just makes you move slower isn’t necessarily fun.”

Although it’s unfortunate that Fox has had to cut interesting content from Deltarune, the game’s limited budget and smaller developer team make the thought process behind the decision more understandable.

While we don’t have an exact release date for Chapter 3 as of yet, it is definitely on the horizon. Also in Fox’s newsletter was the announcement that Undertale is celebrating its birthday. It has been 8 years since it was first released but don’t expect any sort of celebration as the creator says he doesn’t “have much energy for a wild and crazy event this year”. It may be that the work being done on Chapter 3 of Deltarune is taking its toll!

Fear not though. Toby Fox did post on Twitter/X that Fangamer has released sleep-themed goods in recognition of Undertale’s 8th anniversary. Fox also announced that 20% of the proceeds from the exclusive blanket or shirt will go to the AbleGamers charity.

Fans of Undertale couldn’t believe that the game had been around for so long:
