Like many prominent actors, Daniel Craig has expressed his contempt for playing a single character for a prolonged period, which eventually led the actor to bid goodbye to the role of James Bond. But surprisingly, after his departure from the colossal IP, rumors emerged claiming that the actor almost made his debut in another giant IP with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Daniel Craig Shares His Viewpoint on Possible Marvel Future
“It’s all rumor… I mean, I don’t know where these things come from. It’s a lot of lockdown craziness.”
However, the actor didn’t completely brush off the possibility of taking an MCU gig in the future, as in a separate interview with Josh Horowitz, Craig revealed his condition behind accepting an MCU offer.
“I would take any job if the hours were good (laughs)… sure, absolutely. Yeah, definitely.”
Although witnessing Craig in an MCU movie is a pretty far-fetched idea for now, considering he was already enrolled with a popular IP for the better part of two decades, there is still some hope.
The Script Should Be Good Said Daniel Craig
Responding to a fan’s question in the same interview, Daniel Craig explained his reasoning behind accepting his projects, and it has to do with the quality of the script, stating “Is it good”. And considering Craig was once hesitant about playing James Bond but the script for Casino Royale convinced him eventually, if the material is right, fans might someday witness the Knives Out Star in the confinements of MCU.
While it’d be enticing to witness James Bond in the realm of MCU, with the current WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, the possibilities of witnessing it happening anytime soon are not exactly bright.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to stream on Disney Plus.
