Action star, Chris Hemsworth is all set to reprise his role as Tyler Rake in the sequel of the action thriller movie, Extraction. The movie followed the story of Tyler Rake, a former Australian Army commando turned mercenary who is hired by an Indian drug lord to rescue his son who has been kidnapped by a rival drug lord in Bangladesh. Extraction had intense action scenes and ended in a nail-biting cliffhanger.
With Extraction 2 all set to release later this month, Chris Hemsworth recently opened up his training regime to gain more muscle mass and play the role of Tyler Rake even better.
Chris Hemsworth described filming Extraction as the most exhausting shoot of his career
Although Chris Hemsworth has been a part of plenty of action movies throughout his career, the Australian actor still described filming Extraction as ‘incredibly challenging‘. Hemsworth revealed their shooting regime for the scenes and it sounds incredibly exhausting. He said,
“Every day, we were shooting one scene, we’d be rehearsing the next fight scene the following day, so it didn’t really stop. It was a three-month shoot, basically kinda running, and sprinting, and fighting the whole time.”
In another interview, Chris Hemsworth described Extraction as the most exhausting shoot of his career. He said, “The whole thing was by far the most exhausting shoot I’ve ever been a part of.”
The Blackhat actor revealed that his body in the role of Thor was just for the aesthetics
In a recent interview, Chris Hemsworth revealed that he felt that he needed a more athletic body to film for Extraction than he did for Marvel. He said,
“Thor required me to come in and look a certain way, and it was mostly, sort of, aesthetic body work, whereas this, there was a far greater athleticism needed.“
The director of the movie, Sam Hargrave also revealed that Hemsworth is almost up for any type of action scenes in the movie. Hargrave talked about actually putting the actor on fire in real life for one scene in Extraction 2 as he wanted the shot to look realistic. He said,
“I’ve never come across a challenge that he wasn’t up for. When I pitched that to him – actually setting him on fire, not doing it via CGI – he kind of looked at me sideways, smiled and said, ‘Sounds awesome mate.’”
Extraction 2 is all set to be released on Netflix on June 16, 2023.
