Following the premiere of the Netflix series Warrior Nun starring Alba Baptista, in 2020, the show became an instant hit and acquired a massive viewership, and garnered positive reviews. Thus, Warrior Nun was later renewed for season two, to keep the viewership intact and carry forward the storyline. However, the fantasy series was canceled prematurely by Netflix after just two seasons.
Despite fans’ demands, Alba Baptista’s Warrior Nun didn’t return with the highly anticipated third season. However, on a recent note executive producer, Dean English shared exciting news with fans, surrounding the Netflix series. Announcing via YouTube video, English discussed the resurrection of the canceled Netflix series in the form of a movie trilogy.
Netflix Canceled Alba Baptista Starring Warrior Nun
Alba Baptista’s Warrior Nun based on the original comic book character created by Ben Dunn was hailed by audiences worldwide upon its release on Netflix. The show narrated the story of a 19-year-old fierce warrior, Ava, who battles demons while getting caught up in the conflict between good and evil.
The show featuring Chris Evans’ girlfriend Alba Baptista, initially premiered in 2020, and garnered praises which forced the creators to come up with a second season. Evidently, the continuation of the show turned out to be an achievement for the creators and producers, as the series gained massive viewership and success.
However, following two short-lived seasons of Warrior Nun, the show was canceled on Netflix before further renewal. The decision of cancellation came a little over a month after the fantasy action series premiered its second season. Despite fans’ appreciation and the show remaining in the top 10 series rankings for three weeks, Netflix caused an early death to the show.
