Daredevil and Spider-Man are actually great buddies off the screen.

Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan once revealed how he’d been roommates with Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox, and Eddie Redmayne. But while the four used to be super tight back then, they gradually got scattered as their careers moved on to different trajectories, even if it was in the same industry. Fatefully or coincidentally though, both Garfield and Cox ended up becoming a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point, and their paths crossed once again.

While both the actors must share tons of great memories, there was one particular instance that Cox seems to be especially reminiscent of.

The Hilarious Moment When Charlie Cox And Andrew Garfield Got Locked Out

Back when Charlie Cox hadn’t yet started to portray Daredevil on screen yet, he’d once gotten locked out on a rooftop in NYC with Andrew Garfield. This was when the latter had already been playing Peter Parker in Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man film series.

“Andrew and I have shared a few stories. A few years before, I got cast as Daredevil, so I wasn’t actually a superhero at the time. But Andrew was playing Spider-Man at the time, and him and I got locked out on a rooftop in New York, and we couldn’t get back in. And I’ve always thought that that would be really funny to people years later, that two ‘superheroes’ were locked on a rooftop and they couldn’t do anything about it.”

Although Garfield’s Spider-Man and Cox’s Daredevil haven’t yet gotten the opportunity to share the screen, the two have always been great friends in real life. The Defenders star even raised a toast to Garfield as “one of the greatest” actors of “our generation” during the GQ Men of the Year party. Safe to say their friendship is a golden one.

Andrew Garfield’s Future As Spider-Man

After The Amazing Spider-Man 2, fans saw Garfield reprise the role of the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Seeing him in the Spider-Man suit after almost 7 years evoked a strange yet strong emotion in the MCU fandom. And ever since, the audience hasn’t ceased their demand to see the 39-year-old English actor back in more Spider-Man projects.

Following the massive fiasco of Marc Webb’s 2014 film, the character of Peter Parker was consolidated under the umbrella of Marvel Studios. Not to mention, there was also the nasty situation with Sony firing the Under the Silver Lake star due to his supposed lack of professionalism which, as was later revealed, were false accusations on Garfield’s reputation. Given all that, it has been a difficult journey for the actor to get reinstated as Spider-Man.

Sony’s chairman recently revealed that a Spider-Man 4 is very much in the cards and positively in the works. Although the cast and plot details are being kept under wraps, certain sources claim that Tom Holland, who appeared in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man trilogy, is set to return for the fourth film as well. The only predicament with that is Garfield’s fans had been expecting him to take over the reins in the new movie instead. But there is still a solid possibility for him to appear in Spider-Man 4, if not as the lead, then at least by uniting with Holland’s web-crawler at some point.

Spider-Man 4 isn’t expected to release before 2024.
