As Phase 6 is set to deal with the 2015 version of the Secret Wars storyline by Jonathan Hickman, it shall have the opportunity to include the fan-favorite element of Battleworld, which indicates convergence of universes. This allows the upcoming MCU movie to have a multiversal event where it can tie characters and storylines from multiple universes, even outside of the MCU like X-Men.

Secret Wars has the opportunity to play with different universes and timelines

Further, considering the universal amalgamation creating massive incursion-level events, and time-traveling conquerors making a mess of the timeline, Avengers: Secret Wars can have the perfect opportunity to rewrite the MCU timeline for its reboot. Apart from that, since jumping between different universes will no longer be possible after Secret Wars, it is believed that this movie can give birth to a new Sacred Timeline.

Avengers: Secret Wars Can Bring Back Classic MCU Heroes

While discussing how the universal amalgamation and jumping between timelines is a great concept that can be utilized in Avengers: Secret Wars, fans believe there’s a high possibility of even bringing back classic heroes in the film. Thus, by choosing important elements from the alternate universes and bringing them into the mainline Earth-616 continuity, the MCU can even bring the lost heroes.

By resetting the timeline Marvel can not only allow the X-Men to co-exist alongside the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, but also introduce new versions of old characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow. Although MCU previously wrote off these classic characters, Avengers: Secret Wars will have the opportunity to give closure to these heroes.
