Throughout the years, the online multiplayer support for the game has been trying to come up with ways to counter the cheating system. This includes inflicting in-game hallucinations, making guns literally vanish, and the infamous “quicksand,” but of course, that has not been enough to completely get rid of the cheaters.
Fortunately, Call of Duty has adapted and now introduced a new way to hopefully decrease the cheating frequency in its online multiplayer mode. Its latest anti-cheat system will actually name and shame banned cheaters right in the middle of a game. This should hit the cheaters where it hurts, confirming their ultimate kill and banishment.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Updated Anti-Cheat System
Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has finally been released, and it includes fresh gear, new maps, and a cool German shepherd companion who is basically immortal and is accessible from the character’s belt. However, the one feature that stands out the most in the latest season is the game’s updated anti-cheat system.
When in-game hallucinations and vanishing weapons weren’t stopping the cheaters, the developers will now ensure that the evil cheating players in online multiplayer matches are directly shamed while playing so that they might feel some guilt about their immoral practices.
Announced by the official Call of Duty Twitter (or X) account, the game’s anti-cheat support, called Team Ricochet, wrote that the latest CoD season will push out notifications on the kill feed the moment the monitoring squad removes a cheater from the lobby. Players will receive a message on the screen’s bottom left during a game to notify them about a banished hacker. This message delivery system is basically similar to how you find out about another player’s standout headshot.

Players Appreciate the new Call of Duty Anti-Cheat System
The new Call of Duty anti-cheat system actually makes sense because, first of all, removing cheaters from a game seems to be the only right way to deal with them, but when you tell everyone about the banished and disgraced players, it’s just the cherry on top. Of course, this latest justice counter won’t completely get rid of the cheating problem that plagues the game’s online multiplayer mode on a mass level. But it is definitely a step in the right direction to bring a sort of satisfaction to players who play the game fair and square.
And it seems that Call of Duty players are really appreciating the game’s new anti-cheat system. This can be observed through the fan replies to the initial tweet, which are bombarded by positive comments like “Nice” and “W” to show support for the developers’ new update. On the other hand, there are some people who are asking Team Ricochet to unban their accounts in the replies as well, but that is to be expected with a huge fanbase like CoD‘s.
