It has been confirmed by Activision that The Boys television series will be officially crossing over with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone making Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir available as operators. The announcement is in anticipation of the “Season 4 Reloaded” event, which is set to start on Wednesday, July 12th. When the reloaded event begins there will be several changes to gameplay, weapons, maps, and more, and The Boys characters will be leading the charge. The bundles, which will include the three character skins, are priced at $19.99 for launch, or 2,400 Call of Duty points.
Although some may think it will be odd to see Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir running around with high powered firearms, this is not where the influence of The Boys ends. In season 4, Warzone will also include something called Temp V, which is the game’s version of Compound V. This will give players the chance to have limited super powers including: electric shockwave, laser eyes, teleportation, and charge jump. Although there are no details on how long the abilities will last or if they will coincide with your selected character skin, they will certainly change the dynamic of Warzone.
The Activision Character Announcement for Season 4 Reloaded May Have Been Made Because of an Insider Leak
Earlier on the same day as the Activision announcement of The Boys characters, there was an apparent leak by Twitter user, @CoD_Perseus. This particular source has already had a hand in leaking information related to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and has now shown to be credible for other Call of Duty content. The Twitter leaker posted three different images corresponding with the three operators and provided a brief description of what is to come. The Homelander post said the following:
“Homelander is coming in hot with this new Operator Bundle featuring the hero himself, THREE heroic Blueprints, and a laser-eye Finishing move to cut down all those beneath him. #CallofDuty #CONSIDERTHEBOYS”
The Starlight post says:
“Starlight is ready to blind the competition with this new Operator Bundle complete with the hero herself and THREE bright and deadly Blueprints.”
Lastly, the Black Noir post declares:
“Black Noir proves that actions are louder than words with this new Operator Bundle featuring the hero himself and THREE lethal and silent Blueprints.”
It’s clear @CoD_Perseus has a great deal of inside information into the Activision title, This is making gamers wonder if the user really is a leaker, or is just an account created to develop more hype for the announcement. Either way, players excited to try their hand with The Boys characters when they drop on July 12th. This may be just the beginning of The Boys television series hype, as some are expecting release dates for the show and its upcoming spin-off, Gen-V, to come soon.

While the use of major franchise skins have become more commonplace in gaming, it has created a debate amongst fandoms. Whether you’re a fan of Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc. you’ve probably experienced in-game skin purchases like these. Those who love the skins are excited to play as their favorite characters no matter how that happens. The other side, sees skins as nothing more than a money making machine, where characters are just a brand and come with none of their classic powers. No matter where you fall on this issue, it’s unlikely the end of franchise skins will be any time soon.
Are you excited for The Boys characters to join the operator roster in MWII or will the powers and skins coming be a great detriment to the game? Leave a comment and let us know what you think!
