Call of Duty 2025 Will Remaster Maps From Past Games Similar to the Format of Modern Warfare 3

The latest leaks for the upcoming Call of Duty 2025 suggests that the game is expected to feature remastered Black Ops 2 maps, just as Sledgehammer Games is doing with 2023’s Modern Warfare 3. Modern Warfare 2 maps are to also be remastered in 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, scheduled to be released in the month of November. Therefore, these developments may also imply the same for the upcoming Call of Duty 2025 that has been rumored to be developed by Treyarch.

Black Ops 2 maps expected to be remastered in Call of Duty 2025.

According to a trusted Call of Duty Leak posted by @el_bobberto on the X app (previously known as Twitter), he reveals that the devs of Call of Duty 2025 might just be planning to incorporate numerous Black Ops 2 multiplayer maps into the upcoming game, as a follow-up to the scheduled 2024 release. This reveal has come as a surprise to most gamers in the Call of Duty community.

This leak has further been clarified by another reputable Call of Duty leaker, @TheMW2Ghost  who stated that they also “heard similar that Black Ops 2 maps were in the remaster pipeline.” These leaks would follow-up with what Sledgehammer Games are doing with this year’s Modern Warfare 3 by including all 12 original maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) to be remastered against the game’s launch in November 2023.

As interesting as this leak might seem, one must keep in mind that the decision to remaster Black Ops 2 maps into Call of Duty 2025 are subject to change depending on players reception to Modern Warfare 2’s remastered maps in Modern Warfare 3. Surprisingly, things seems positive despite some rumored changes that didn’t initially go down well with some players.

Gamers should also note that, Modern Warfare 3 seems to be mainly replicating Modern Warfare 2 in terms of its general gameplay style, weapons, and unlocks. Therefore, Modern Warfare 3 intending to give players remastered maps from the 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 game to battle in makes sense. Modern Warfare 3 seems to be setting out a pathway for Call of Duty 2025 to follow in.

Since Modern Warfare 3 is expected to incorporate maps from Modern Warfare 2 into the game, players might just have to expect the same in Black Ops 2, which debuted with a range of multiplayer maps upon its initial release in 2012. If the leaked information proves accurate, some of these popular maps could potentially be remastered for Call of Duty 2025.  The following are the some of the maps that may just get remastered in the upcoming Call of Duty 2025:

  • Hijacked
  • Raid
  • Aftermath
  • Drone
  • Standoff
  • Cargo
  • Yemen
  • Turbine
  • Carrier
  • Express
  • Plaza
  • Overflow
  • Meltdown
  • Nuketown 2025
  • Slums
  • Cove – DLC
  • Dig – DLC
  • Detour – DLC
  • Downhill – DLC
  • Encore – DLC
  • Frost – DLC
  • Grind – DLC
  • Hydro – DLC
  • Magma – DLC
  • Pod – DLC
  • Rush – DLC
  • Studio – DLC
  • Takeoff – DLC
  • Uplink – DLC
  • Vertigo – DLC

Even some old DLC maps are expected to be remastered ahead of the release of Call of Duty 2025. The DLC maps would further be improved upon and worth the buy whenever it is released.

This news comes as an interesting development as players greatly anticipate these two main upcoming Call of Duty titles ahead of their scheduled releases. Modern Warfare 3 will drop in November 2023, and Call of Duty 2025 is also expected to release around November 2025. It still remains uncertain regarding what other developments may transpire over time, as COD 2025’s release is still 2 years away.

Nevertheless, the response and feedback given to the developers when Modern Warfare 3 releases should be enough to ascertain what might happen in the upcoming Call of Duty 2025. Whilst we wait, we sure do hope some amazing new changes are made as to the upcoming games.
