Brad Pitt is one of the most successful actors, who has not only established himself as a prominent star in Hollywood but has also gained worldwide recognition. As much as he is known for his professional life and his on-screen characters, the actor is often in conversation regarding his personal life as well. His chaotic divorce from his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, still makes the headlines.
While he may not have a very great relationship with his ex-wife post-divorce, the Bullet Train star is known to be good friends with his ex-girlfriend, Gwyneth Paltrow. Seems like he even had a great relationship with her father, as the actor has shared that he had been following something he learned from Paltrow’s father a long while ago.
Brad Pitt Shared One Thing He Learned From His Ex’s Father
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow met while working on David Fincher‘s 1995 crime thriller Seven. The former couple soon started dating and was constantly spotted together. After dating for two years, the Oscar-winning actor proposed to Paltrow. However, things did not work out for him, and around six months after the proposal, they broke off their relationship.
Despite their break up, they have kept their differences aside and are known to be very good friends. The Country Strong actress has said that there is no bad blood among them, and Pitt has also praised his ex’s wellness and lifestyle brand Goop.
Not just his ex, the actor is also known to have a great relationship with her father, Bruce Paltrow. During an interview with Esquire, the Fight Club actor recalled something that he had learned from the late director and has since adapted into his life.
Pitt shared that he does not refer to himself as an actor. Instead, he lists his occupation as self-employed. “I learned that from Bruce Paltrow,” he said before adding, “I always liked it. It’s a humble way to describe what we do.” The actor claimed that it helps give someone wrong ideas and also allows to have a moderate introduction without any misunderstandings.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s Father Inspired Brad Pitt’s Cashmere Shirt Business
During a conversation with the Goop founder and his ex, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brad Pitt talked about his Cashmere shirt business he started with jewelry designer Sat Hari Khalsa. He shared that they planned to collaborate after Khalsa designed a Cashmere short for him years ago.
However, the person who introduced Pitt to Cashmere shorts was Paltrow’s late father, Bruce Paltrow. The actor claimed that he had no idea about it until he met the Proof actress and her father. “And you know, the softness comes from Bruce. I didn’t even know what cashmere was till you and Bruce,” he said.
The actor shared that not just about the softness of Cashmere, Bruce Paltrow also taught him several things, from “what a fine bottle of wine means” to “how to experience it.” And the Troy actor states that he really values everything he learned from the late filmmaker.
