Lupita Nyong’o has been known for many iconic roles in various franchises including Black Panther (2018) and Us (2019). According to recently confirmed news, the actress will add another popular franchise to her portfolio.
As per recent reports, the Kenyan-Mexican actress will be starring in a spin-off of A Quiet Place titled A Quiet Place: Day One which will act as a spin-off set in A Quiet Place universe.
Lupita Nyong’o Will Star in John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Spin-off
Exclusively confirmed by Deadline, the news of Lupita Nyong’o joining A Quiet Place franchise has the internet abuzz. The actress is most notably known for portraying Nakia, King T’Challa’s love interest in Black Panther (2018).

According to Deadline, the spin-off will feature Lupita Nyong’o in a paramount role. The spin-off is reportedly different from the threequel that John Krasinski is already planning to do. John Krasinski along with Emily Blunt will not be appearing in the spin-off as the titled Day One sounds like a prequel.
Fans are complaining about the alleged repetitiveness of the franchise. Although Day One of the apocalypse has already been shown in A Quite Place II (2020), fans now hope that the spin-off will tell a different story not set in the same circumstances as the previous two movies. Other than the above reports, not much has been declared for the movie.
A Quiet Place Gets Its Own Universe Like The MCU?
When we say “like the MCU” we don’t mean superheroes swooping in to kill the aliens. It has been rumored for too long that John Krasinski’s mind has been stuck in the same universe as A Quiet Place for a long time. It has been reported that Krasinski is already busy shooting the third part of the franchise (different from the spin-off) and will allegedly not stop there.
With acclaimed director, Michael Bay set as an executive producer for A Quiet Place III, the people are convinced that John Krasinski will be building a universe set upon the basis of A Quiet Place. Although this is a rumor, an alleged release date has been theorized for A Quiet Place III to release which is set in 2025. As for Lupita Nyong’o, she will be seen soon while reprising her role as Nakia in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on 11th November 2022 in theaters worldwide.
The spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One has been announced for a release date on 8th March 2024.
A Quiet Place I and II are available to stream on Paramount+.
