Zoe Saldana, mostly famous for her role as Gamora in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, got candid talking about her personal life in WIRED’s web’s most searched questions. She was joined by Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) as they took turns to unravel tiny little details about their lives that fans often want to know.
Saldana, 45, has been a part of some of the most visually breathtaking films early on in her career. She got her breakthrough opportunity in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek (2009) alongside Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, and Karl Urban.
The same year, she appeared in James Cameron’s Avatar alongside Sam Worthington which, to this day, sits at the top in terms of lifetime collections with a staggering $2.9 billion.
With her stratospheric success, she settled down a year before her MCU entry with Marco Perego Saldana. Answering a fan question about her married life, Saldana had an interesting response. She had to marry him because of her pregnancy!
Zoe Saldana Thought Marco Perego Saldana Was A Playboy
Marco Perego Saldana is an Italian filmmaker and producer. Zoe Saldana told the fans in the WIRED interview that she didn’t have any plans to marry the man initially. Saldana, after working with the likes of J.J. Abrams and James Cameron, said she attended star parties quite often and came across Marco Perego Saldana.
“How did Zoe Saldana meet Marco Perego?” — asked a fan.
“It’s funny you should ask. I kept meeting him at all these parties and I always kept running in the opposite direction because he just looked like the biggest player in the room!” — said Saldana.
It was then she revealed the story about what actually happened between her and Perego Saldana that she had to marry him.

Marco Perego Saldana Got Zoe Saldana Pregnant
According to PEOPLE magazine, Marco Perego Saldana and Zoe Saldana were spotted with each other at an after-party around May 2013. What could have happened between the two that they hung out together after Saldana thought he had been a playboy? It turns out that she got pregnant.
“I got pregnant, and I told him, ‘You can’t leave! We’re having twins, and you’re gonna have to marry me,’ and he did!”
To top it off, she highlighted the fact that Marco Perego Saldana was the nicest person she had ever met. After the twins Cy and Bowie she gave birth to in 2014, the couple welcomed a third son in 2016 whom they named Zen.
