Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the best movies that came out this year. Despite the recent downfall in popularity of superhero films, the animated story of Spider-Man traveling the multiverse and meeting other Spider-People is still winning hearts. With a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie really proved that fans and critics still appreciate good superhero movies.
The animated world of the Spider-Verse captivated fans of all ages. The unique animation and an intriguing story about the multiverse and canon events have won over Spidey fans all over again. As the multiverse expands, fans get to meet more characters, who are just as lovable or maybe “hate-able” as the ones seen in the first installment – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The film, with its story, managed to enchant fans with some unique concepts. The concept of a canon event became a long running meme among fans as they joked about how anything sad in their lives was just a “canon event.” Also, the hilarious memes of Miguel O’Hara being a racist towards Miles Morales sure made everyone crack up. Amid all of that, a fan-made movie went viral that showed a hilarious interaction of various Spider-People. It was posted by an Instagram user @officialnerdyhero, with the caption; “This is the best thing I’ve seen all day”
The video, which even features Andrew Garfield’s viral laugh, has a subtle reference to the sitcom Community. Can you spot it?

In the fourth episode of the third season, “Remedial Chaos Theory”, the character of Donald Glover, Troy, goes out to get pizza. As Troy leaves, chaos takes over. When he returns with the pizza and sees the mess the others had made in his absence, he is stunned and yells, “Nooooo.”
The situation is quite similar to what Donald Glover as Prowler sees in this video, when he comes in with the pizza, as the Hot Dog stand is on fire. Though the reference is very subtle, all Community fans can spot it and they love it.
Artist shares crazy Across the Spider-Verse detail
While the fans await the upcoming Beyond the Spider-Verse, as this movie ended on a cliff-hanger, to know how the story of Miles Morales moves forward after he has discovered his true fate in a different universe; here’s a surprising detail revealed by the artist that will blow the minds of the fans. But read, only if you want spoilers.
At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, Miles ends up going to an entirely different universe while attempting to return to his own. In Universe 42, Miles discovers that he was meant to be Prowler and not his uncle. The visual effects supervisor of the movie, Michael Lasker, shared on his Twitter,
“Earth 42 is dark, with criminality rampant. It’s look has a noir aesthetic where colors recede into blocked-up shadows and the inking style is heavy and gritty, obliterating light.”
“Before the big reveal, we added the Earth-42 style of inking and splatter to these shots so the world felt different, but not so much that it would be obvious to the viewer. One thing you’ll notice is that those heavier ink lines are added to Rio, but not Miles since it’s her universe, not his.”
It really is interesting to learn how much detail goes into animating the movie. And all the hard work of the artists did pay off as the movie ade $1.35 billion globally at the box office.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to release in 2024, but a delay is suspected that can move it to 2025.
