Harrison Ford arguably has one of the richest acting legacies in Hollywood. The Blade Runner star has featured in some of the most prominent franchises known to humanity, becoming a household name and being a part of The Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. Ford’s name is synonymous with the latter, a franchise that is over four decades old and still kicking. Indeed a remarkable feat for any star. Safe to say his legacy is still taking shape.
A new chapter in Indiana Jones’ story
Fans must have thought that they had seen the last of their favorite archaeologist when Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hit the theatres all the way back in 2008. Little did they know how wrong they were.
Harrison Ford returns as Indiana Jones this year in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film, which also includes the likes of Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Antonio Banderas, amongst others, had fans excited that they would get to experience it all once again. One more addition to an already illustrious story.
What is everyone’s favorite Indiana Jones movie?
The Dial of Destiny is the next chapter in a story that has already won many hearts. Jones’ adventures have always piqued the audience’s interest. It is at this point that a split arises in the fandom.
They can’t agree on one point – what is the best Indiana Jones movie of all time? There is no dearth of options for fans. Some believe that the movies have only improved over the years. Starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark, the series has only gone from strength to strength. Some fans disagree, though.
A contested legacy
The debate has continued unabated for years. And it seems that we have a tie -between Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The fight has now boiled over to Twitter, with Twitteratis slugging it out to ensure that their choice gets the upper hand.
A fan put things in perspective, preparing a rank list to put this debate to bed.
Yet, there are some fans who can’t wrap their heads around this hierarchy. Fans of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade are not ready to back down.
It is not likely that the debate will end anytime soon. Or even ever, maybe.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is in cinemas now.
