The previous game that had the title of the highest-rated game on the PS5 was Elden Ring. But now, Baldur’s Gate 3 is going to wear this crown and enjoy this amazing achievement.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Displaces Elden Ring by Becoming the Highest-rated PS5 Game
Just by visiting Opencritic’s website, fans can see a score of 96 for Baldur’s Gate 3, and on Metacritic’s website, it has a metascore of 97. This is an astonishing achievement as both these sites have unanimously agreed on the fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 is the most critically acclaimed game of the year.
For those who are not aware, both Metacritic and OpenCritic come up with their scores by review aggregating. This means that they collect all the scores and ratings from different gaming publications about a particular video game, and then compile them and create an aggregated score.
Metacritic is more secretive about this process, whereas OpenCritic is more transparent. Even so, it is clear that the majority of video game critics have positively received this game, particularly for PS5.

Both fans and reviewers have seen how well this game performs on the PS5. It’s only been three years since the newest iteration of the PlayStation came out, but many critics are comfortable in saying that Baldur’s Gate 3 greatly sums up the next-game gaming experience. Thus, It makes sense why it is the highest-rated game only on PS5.
With the Dungeon and Dragon-inspired gameplay and the virtues of using the PS5 controller, players can easily immerse themselves in the world of this RPG. Besides, the limitations created when using the PS5 controller just resulted in much more immersive outcomes.
For example, unlike PC when you are playing this game on the PS5, you cannot move your character by pointing and clicking, instead, you will have to move them through the environment directly through your controller’s thumbsticks. This may sound like a small change but it actually makes you more connected to your player character and exploring the world becomes more organic. Many players have preferred not being able to zoom in and out of the map easily like when they play on PC as it makes them feel like they are seeing the world through the perspective of their player character.
