This may only be the start of the ever-climbing numbers as more players will be able to load in over the next few days, but this isn’t all as it is also gaining popularity on Twitch as fans flock to watch players explore the vast world of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Why is Baldur’s Gate 3 so popular on day two of release?

Many gamers will be wondering why it gained this popularity on its second day of release, and that is because there was, unfortunately, no preload available for the game, so many gamers had to download the game over its first day of release as it was such a large game coming in at 122GB. Even though that happened, it has still worked out well, as gamers have been logging onto the game and been playing for a long amount of time.

So far, many gamers that have been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 have been streaming it on Twitch, and it has been receiving a lot of views today as players are able to see streamers’ reactions to the quirks of Baldur’s Gate 3, like the full frontal nudity that is apart of the game. This is all good news as developer Larian isn’t a well-known developer, but they do some fantastic work, and it has brought a lot of Dungeons and Dragons fans into a magnificent world.

What will be the numbers when the game fully releases?

So far, the only platform the game has been released on is PC, as it has been released on Steam and GOG, but what will happen when the game releases on PlayStation in October and Xbox sometime in the new year? When Baldur’s Gate 3 releases on consoles, we will be expecting a larger number of players joining on day one as it will be gaining a lot of attention right now as it is being streamed on PC, which will help people who are unaware of the game to find out what it is and whether or not they would like to play it themselves.

Even though it is only day two of the game’s release on PC, the numbers will slowly rise over the coming days, but it won’t reach higher than it already has on the Steam charts as currently, it is placed third below Counter-Strike and Dota 2. This is a highly impressive feat as Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the few games in the top games with concurrent players that isn’t free to play as numerous games in that list are free to play and have been out for numerous years, but this high amount of players won’t last forever.
