Yes, Baldur’s Gate 3 will support cross-save functionality between PC and PS5. Larian Studios revealed the great news in August, confirming that they are reactivating cross-saves. That means you can play on whichever platform you prefer, save your game, and then continue playing on your second device as you please. Thanks to Larian’s account system, cross-saving Baldur’s Gate 3 between PC and PS5 couldn’t be easier. These are the steps you need to take:

  • Step 1: Create a free Larian account or log in if you already have one.
  • Step 2: On your PC and PS5, open the option menu and enable the cross-save feature on both your devices. This allows your game saves to be uploaded to Larian’s servers.
  • Step 3: Log into your Larian account on your second device.
  • Step 4: Continue your adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3 on your preferred machine from where you left off.

Tip: Make sure to stay logged into your account. If you don’t see the cross-save feature in your option menu, you’re probably not logged in.

As a PlayStation player, you are most likely used to requiring a PS Plus subscription to access features such as cloud saves. But do you need a PS Plus subscription for Baldur’s Gate 3’s cross-save functionality? The great news is you don’t. Larian enables this feature via its own servers, meaning they don’t have to rely on Sony’s service to offer it. That being said, to play on both your PC and your PlayStation with cross-platform progression, you will need two copies of the game – one for PC and one for PS5. This may be daunting for many players, but the flexibility and freedom that comes with it might just be worth dishing out twice for many.

Yes, once Baldur’s Gate 3 hits Xbox consoles, you will be able to cross-save between PC, PS5, and Xbox. Larian recently finally confirmed that the sprawling DND RPG is coming to Xbox Series X/S. While the Series S version of the game won’t feature split-screen gameplay, both versions for the Series X and S will include cross-platform progression. Plus, you won’t just be able to use the feature between Xbox and PC, but also between Xbox and PlayStation. So, once the game is out on Xbox – which may not be long anymore – you can enjoy the cross-save functionality between all three platforms in whichever combination you please.
