It has been a year since people fell in love with Andrew Garfield, all over again, for his role as Spider-Man. Since then, numerous people have been wanting the actor to return to his iconic role in a rumored The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
A new rumor is making rounds around the internet about a potential return of an all-time classic villain. Negotiations of the return of the Green Goblin are being allegedly discussed for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
The Green Goblin Returns By Order of Andrew Garfield
It has been agreed by all that Andrew Garfield was harshly criticized for his role in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Following the appearance of Tobey Maguire and the Tick, Tick…Boom actor in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), it all changed.
Fans now demand Andrew Garfield to return as their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man once again in The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Although the Sony universe of Venom and Morbius does not seem to be going too well, the third part of the franchise may change all that! The rumor spreading across the internet has fans getting excited for the return of Green Goblin but it’s not Willem Dafoe.
Dane DeHaan portrayed the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). It is alleged that The Social Network actor wants Dane DeHaan to return for the role of the Green Goblin.
If the rumors turn out to be true, Sony could very well expand their (shared) Spider-Man universe along with the inclusions of Venom, Morbius, and, the upcoming Madame Web. The fans are a bit disappointed as Willem Dafoe will not be reprising his role of Norman Osborn but are excited to see a potential return of Andrew Garfield into the Spider-Man fold once again.

Although there has been no official confirmation regarding the existence or even a plan for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Sony had previously considered the offer. Following the release of the second part of the franchise, Kaz Hirai, the former chairperson of Sony Corporation wanted to announce the threequel.
Due to undisclosed circumstances, Andrew Garfield failed to make an appearance at the event where the announcement was to be made. This was the final straw for Andrew Garfield’s Sony career as the franchise came to an abrupt end. The actor since then has redeemed himself by starring in movies such as Tick, Tick…BOOM, Hacksaw Ridge, and, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As far as officiality is concerned, these are all rumors hanging around the internet and no officials have spoken regarding the same. The people would indeed be delighted to see their favorite actor don the role of Spider-Man once again but till then…it’s a game of wait and watch.
