Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars universe, she was introduced in the 2008 animated movie, Star Wars: Rebels. Over the last 15 years, the young padawan has gained a massive fan following, and the intriguing aspect about her popularity is that she is no Jedi, and after Darth Vader, she is one of the most beloved characters. Fans don’t love her simply for not being a Jedi, but for surviving Order 66, Emperor Palpatine’s grand plan to eradicate every Jedi.
A lot of Star Wars fans believe that Grogu from The Mandalorian had a sad story because he was captured by the Empire for being of the same species as Yoda, possessing a strong connection to the Force. As a result, the youngling was separated from his family at a young age, having various experiments conducted on him, leaving emotional scars on him.

Ahsoka Survives The Infamous Order 66
Over the years Ahsoka has grown to be one of the most popular and loved characters in the Star Wars universe. Her development from Anakin Skywalker’s inexperienced Padawan to a strong and independent force is loved immensely by the fans of the franchise. But the Jedi exile has gone through a lot of unfortunate events, and she has seen the worst of the galaxy and managed to live to tell the tale.
Even though she has been through a lot nothing comes close to the treacherous Order 66, the canon event is one of the most melancholic events in the entire series. Ahsoka’s life was turned upside-down during this occurrence as before the execution of the order, she left the Jedi Order, distancing herself from the life and politics of the structures.
This event was captured perfectly in the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7, episode 12 titled Victory and Death. During Order 66, Ahsoka’s master Anakin Skywalker descends into darkness joining the Siths. His disciple was on a Star Destroyer called Tribunal with Captain Rex, a clone trooper. However, she felt that something is wrong with her master.
Her quick thinking saved Captain Rex from being a mindless soldier following the order. However, they were surrounded by clones who saw them as targets, they managed to get to the control room only to learn that the Star Destroyer is on collision course. They fought their way out grabbing a Y-wing and barely escaping. However, after the Tribunal crashed, they returned to fake their death by leaving her lightsaber.
Ahsoka continues to live her life knowing that her Jedi friends were wiped during Order 66, her trust in clones was shattered, and most importantly she could not help her master, Anakin Skywalker from descending into darkness. Moreover, she is in constant evasion from the Empire because of her Force, making her a threat to the Empire’s plans.
What Was Order 66?
Order 66 or Clone Protocol 66 was a secret order created by Emperor Palpatine, the protocol was carried out so that the Jedis spread all over the galaxy can be exterminated. The order identified all Jedis as traitors to the Galactic Republic, and the punishment was execution on sight by the Grand Army of the Republic. However, it was a Sith agenda by Palpatine that was executed with near perfection, as it wiped out a majority of the Jedis across the galaxy.
The order was carried out by clone troopers, they were ordered to kill the Jedis and they ended up slaughtering the Jedis in this tragic event, almost making the Jedi Order extinct. However, characters like Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi survived the slaughter, but they can not do anything because the Galactic Empire took reign, and Jedi are still seen as traitors. Hence, they were forced to go into hiding.
