Jada Pinkett Smith Talks About Her Reclamation Journey
The Magic Mike XXL star shared that in her forthcoming memoir, Worthy, she aims to reclaim her narrative, addressing false claims and rumors that have surrounded her over the years. Jada Pinkett Smith emphasized the ownership of her stories amid all these assumptions made by the public in the past.
“Yeah. I think people have made a lot of assumptions. And you know what? Rightfully so. I have to take ownership of that, in regard to the narrative that I’ve participated in, the falsehoods about myself. In the book, I really explain all of that extensively as part of my reclamation journey. I think a lot of people, not even just women, but a lot of us lose ourselves in narratives that are not necessarily or completely forthright.”
Jada Pinkett Smith Highlights The Importance Of Self Judgment
The Hawthorne star shared that her memoir reflects her true journey to self-worth and includes everything about her life. The superstar further emphasized the importance of self-judgment to clear the misunderstanding surrounding life. The Red Table Talk host added that she hopes her candid revelation would help the readers to expand the horizons of their perspective and embrace the self-accountability in their lives.
“Well, here’s the thing. You escape the blame when you know that it’s not your blame. Right? When there’s a misunderstanding. And when you know the truth, there’s no self-judgment. And if you have no self-judgment, then the judgment of others can’t penetrate. In the book, people will see that I have to be very accountable for the misunderstandings that are floating. But ultimately I hope the book enhances someone’s perspective of their own life. That is my greatest hope.”
It appears like Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir would disclose a lot of unknown aspects about her life, which may include the backdrop of Will Smith’s controversial Oscars slap. Through her words, the Gotham star seeks to inspire and empower others to embrace their own self.
