People want Jon Hamm to face Batman! After the world witnessed, Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight trilogy, the internet did not think anything could top that. But the latest Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman movie, The Batman – Part II speculatively starring Ben Affleck has caused quite a ripple, and people now totally expect to get surprised. Even with the lack of knowledge surrounding the upcoming project, it has still allowed admirers to come up with their own ideas and theories and, as a result, some breathtaking fan art has been made.
Similarly, an artist took the creative liberty on themselves to draw conclusions and added Jon Hamm as the iconic villain Hush to the list of people they would love to see on the silver screen and presented their side on how Hush should look for the epic showdown. Although nothing is yet confirmed the viral art has grabbed quite a few hearts on the internet and now people cannot wait any longer.
Will the viral art convince Matt Reeves to cast Jon Hamm as Hush?
BossLogic, a well-known fan artist, has created a captivating depiction that envisions Jon Hamm embodying the character of Tommy Elliott, also known as Hush. In this rendition, Hamm takes on the role of Bruce Wayne’s childhood companion who ultimately becomes consumed by vengeance and thus a villain to Batman. The artwork showcases how Hamm would look if he were to be cast as the villainous character.
BossLogic captioned the incredible artwork on Instagram,
“Even tho The Penguin was hinted, I’d love to see Hush on the big screen, one of my fav #batman villains “#jonhamm is a fantastic actor, killed it in Baby Driver loved the switch in his character.”
And as per the mention, it was somewhat hinted that Penguin will be fighting the hero residing in Gotham City. Though not confirmed, the interest shown by the actors, Nick Frost and Josh Gad makes it a little believable. After the artwork, it seems that Hush might be more popular among the public than Penguin, and this just might change Reeves’ mind if anything at all has yet been planned.
How did Jon Hamm lose the role of Batman to Robert Pattinson?
The news of Ben Affleck being cast in the role caused a huge uproar and a lot of debate among the fans of the DC Comics universe. Despite the initial criticism, the actor was ultimately highly praised for their performance. But after The Dark Knight, Affleck announced his disinterest to play the character and that is exactly when Jon Hamm jumped in to be the torch bearer. Unfortunately, Hamm was 50 years old, which clashed with the young, inexperienced vigilante role desired by the director, and thus was ultimately eliminated from the running.
This gave Robert Pattinson the perfect opportunity to swoop in and ended up being the right decision. The film earned a whopping $128.5 million at the domestic box office and was the biggest opening weekend of the year 2022, so it is pretty safe to say, that it was indeed a success and Pattinson was definitely the right choice.
