Natalie Portman is an actress known for her strong and iconic roles in movies like Black Swan, and Thor. Being such an iconic actress, she has kept her personal life quite private, unlike some other celebrities.
A 53-year-old musician, by the name of Moby, had authored his memoir titled Then It Fell Apart. In his memoir, the musician had written that he had briefly dated and was romantically involved with the actress. Natalie Portman was quick to reply to this story and stated that it was just a much older man being creepy with her and she did not date Moby at all.
Natalie Portman Denies Ever Dating Moby
Moby is an American singer and songwriter who is quite famous for his songs and has sold 20 million records worldwide. In his 2019 memoir titled Then It Fell Apart, the singer described the brief time he had allegedly dated Hollywood actress Natalie Portman.
Refuting the story, Portman stated in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, that they had nothing of the sort. Since Portman was only 18 at the time while Moby was 33, the actress bluntly stated that it was just an old man being creepy with her when he shouldn’t have.
“I was surprised to hear that he characterized the very short time that I knew him as dating because my recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school,”
Moby had written in his book that Portman was 20 at the time, which the actress also revealed to be false.
“He said I was 20; I definitely wasn’t. I was a teenager. I had just turned 18,”
Natalie Portman was very disturbed by the statements and stated that they had not fact-checked the book at all before publishing. She even felt that it was all an elaborate plan for Moby to sell more copies while defaming her good name.
Natalie Portman Felt It Was All An Elaborate Plan
Furthering the interview, Portman revealed that she felt very uncomfortable with the fact that the publishers hadn’t fact-checked the book before publishing. She also went on to state that there were many factual errors in the book that needed correcting.
“There was no fact checking from him or his publisher – it almost feels deliberate. That he used this story to sell his book was very disturbing to me. It wasn’t the case. There are many factual errors and inventions. I would have liked him or his publisher to reach out to fact check.”
Portman went on to date and eventually marry her current husband Benjamin Millepied and both seem to be going through the ups and downs of marriage together since 2012.
