A Fallout 3 Remaster Could be on the Way

The internet is currently filled with new reports coming from redacted court documents from the Microsoft vs. FTC trial and what took the limelight from the bunch is Fallout 3 Remaster. A new document named “title release schedule” has surfaced on the internet and it seems like Fallout 3 Remaster could finally be coming. The document shows the timeline from FY20E to FY24E, dating back to the launch of Doom Eternal in 2020, and includes other titles as well.

The leaked documents are a few years old and the release schedule document on Resetera has a bunch of games as well as DLCs other than Fallout 3 Remaster that are planned for launch. Fallout 3 launched fifteen years ago and is one of the most successful games in the Fallout series. Fallout 3 fans have wanted a remastered game for a long time and the documents suggest that Bethesda might be working on it.

The leaked document is from before Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media. Therefore, the release date of the game is set to 2024. So the plans could have changed and the game could only arrive a few years later from now. Apart from titles like Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI which gamers already know about, there are other unannounced games.

These unannounced titles include a new Doom game titled Year Zero with two DLCs according to the release schedule. The majority of the titles in FY24 are announced meaning that if in development, these games are only expected to be released sometime in 2026 or later.

Another major Bethesda game that was on the list for a remake with Fallout 3 is Oblivion with a scheduled release in 2022 but seeing how Starfield was pushed back to 2023, the Oblivion Remaster could only arrive in 2025-26. There are also chances that these games were shelved and Bethesda could be working on something else.

The documents also revealed that Microsoft is looking to refresh its Series X console and controller with a brand-new design and features. The console and controller are codenamed Brooklin and Sebile and it could have 2 TB of storage as well as a more immersive controller. Although Microsoft just launched a new Series S console with 1 TB storage, it seems like one more refresh will be coming to the market with Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2, and a brand-new Xbox controller.
