There were some big matches on the card on Day 1 like Seth Rollins Vs Logan Paul, The Usos Vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (tag team match), Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley, Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio, and others.

John Cena took a break from WWE after he lost a Summerslam match against Roman Reigns last year. Previously, it was rumored that John Cena will take on Logan Paul in Wrestlemania 39 as both were having cryptic interactions on their social media handles. Even though the Maverick lost his match to Roman Reigns, his performance at Crown Jewel was worth all the praise. That’s the reason even John Cena posted a picture of Paul which hinted towards a potential match.

Later on, it was announced that the Cenation leader will square up with Austin Theory in Wrestlemania 39. Theory has been waiting for so long to take on this legend in a squared ring. In the Wrestlemania promo, he even openly challenged Cena and took an oath to defeat him at this grand event.

It’s undeniable that Austin Theory has always proved that he has the potential to defeat the WWE legends. He has been a winner of various championships and holds various titles like WWE United States Championship (twice), Men’s Money in the Bank, and the NXT Year-End Award for Future Star of NXT (2020). The match between the two took place at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

While Cena fans believed that their legend is already going to win against the uprising star Theory, the 25-year-old turned the tables during the match. He retained his title of United States Championship by defeating John Cena.

Ahead of the match, John Cena posted a teaser of Wrestlemania 39, warning Theory that he will lose everything if this match happens.

“You might win the day, but then you’ve got to go out the Monday after all by yourself and explain. You won’t have me to lean no, it’ll just be you big man against the most harsh, vocal, ruthless, critical audience in the WWE and they will eat you alive! Because they see what I see, they see what they see, you are full of crap!”

But looks like Theory turned this warning into his motivation to win against the legend. That’s the reason he took advantage of the referees’ bump and delivered a low blow at Cena claiming his victory.
