Goku is one of the most well-known characters ever; his popularity is only matched with a handful of characters you can imagine; even a non-anime watcher will know his name. He has a fanbase of millions, but there are some things about his character that annoy Dragon Ball Z fans.
Goku has several characteristics that make him a very beloved character in the eyes of the audience, but like every other character, he also has his shortcomings; there are several things about Goku that Dragon Ball fans feel and get annoyed with.
7 1. He Chooses The Safety Of The Planet Over His Family & Friends
Goku has found the people he loves and wants to protect whenever faced with a strong enemy. Still, when it comes to difficult situations, Goku usually prioritizes the safety of the planet Earth instead of his family, which many fans do not like about him.
6 2. Not Understanding about Romance
Dragon Ball Z is a shonen manga, and, understandably, romance is an aspect that is not very important; still, in the case of his romantic relationship, he is as ignorant as a three-year-old child. When Goku and Vegeta went to the future to fight Zamasu, Goku revealed that he did not know how are kids born.
5 3. Source of all Problem
There is always a relation between getting stronger and stronger as it attracts other powerful opponents who wish to test their strength; due to Goku’s strong powers, he is always the reason why Earth is attacked, and a few examples are Frieza, Zamasu, and even Cell.
4 4. Not giving enough time to his wife
We all know that Goku loves nothing more than an intense fight, which can help him get more robust, but despite having kids, Goku still does not give time to his wife, Chi Chi. She has been there for him since the beginning, but Goku would rather train or fight someone rather than stay home or spend time with his wife.
3 5. Does not care about his body limitations
It is always a good idea to push your body past its limits, but there needs to be a point where you stop, and unfortunately, Goku does not have a limit. He will train until he can’t move or fight someone until he cannot take a step. In both cases, he fails to identify the limits of his own body.
2 6. Making bad decisions regarding his enemies
Being good-hearted and ignorant are two different things; Goku can feel affection towards his opponents more than he should. An example of this can be seen during the Cell saga when the Z fighters are about to defeat Cell; Goku gives a Senzu bean to him, helping him make a full recovery.
1 7. Puts his children in dire situations
Trusting their child is one of the responsibilities of the parents, and Goku does that, he just does it on a whole other level; as seen in the story, he makes his kids train extremely hard and even throws them in fights that can alter the fate of the universe to help them grow.
