4 Transformers Who Would Decimate Fan Favourite 'Optimus Prime' Without Breaking a Sweat

The Transformers franchise has been cherished for more than 15 years now. With Autobots and Decepticons embarking on thrilling escapades jam-packed with action and all the deadly explosions and machines coming to life, the sci-fi film series is no short of a blockbuster. And under the command of the unrivaled Cybertronian Optimus Prime? The Transformers are unequivocally unstoppable forces.

But for all his unmatched strength and much-coveted invincibility, thanks to the Matrix of leadership, the awe-inspiring leader of the Autobots isn’t the most powerful. Sure, in the films, Optimus managed to thrash every possible threat and exterminated even the most malicious of his enemies, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t get beaten to a pulp by other Transformers who happen to be astronomically powerful.

Here are 4 Transformers who would be able to beat the beloved Optimus Prime in the Hasbro universe without even so much as flinching.

#4. Sentinel Prime

Serving as the major antagonist in 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Sentinel Prime is easily one of the most dangerous Cybertronians. Not only is he a global threat, but he also managed to defeat Optimus Prime on two different occasions with nothing but his fighting ability. And had it not been for Megatron’s shocking treachery at the very last moment that blindsided him, Sentinel Prime would’ve undoubtedly been able to put Optimus down for good.

#3. Lockdown

If Sentinel Prime is a savage, then Lockdown is an absolute beast. Appearing in 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction as the main villain, the brutal assassin and bounty hunter is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many other antagonists, Lockdown has managed to last an incredibly long amount of time against Optimus who was backed up by Bumblebee. A ruthless fighter with a horde of deadly weapons, Lockdown is perhaps one of the most vicious Cybertronians. After all, they needed an ungodly amount of manpower to hold him down before putting him down. Not to mention, he managed to beat Optimus twice in their brawl.

#2. Quintessa

What is that saying, the creator is also the destroyer? Also renowned as the ‘Prime of Life,’ Quintessa is practically the God of the Cybertornians, Optimus Prime included. While she’s one of the most menacing of all the other antagonists, for obvious reasons, the space sorceress is also known for her wicked manipulation powers which give her the name, the Great Deceiver. In 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight, she managed to immobilize the greatest Transformer after a quick corruption of Optimus’ mind. Courtesy of the same, she came awfully close to killing the latter, nearly even finishing the deed before Bumblebee stopped her. And that is certainly more than any other villains can say.

#1. Unicron

A galaxy-eating godlike supervillain and a primal force of evil unlike any other, Unicron is not only famous for his appetite for planets but also for being built like one. The extent of his power, which also happens to involve time travel, is so divine that the Autobots and Maximals had to join forces just to stall him. So for him, conquering Optimus Prime would probably amount to child’s play. And in a way, the Chaos Bringer can easily be looked at as the Thanos of the Transformers universe.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently playing in cinemas.
