TV’s LGBTQ inclusion has hit highs in recent years. Today’s TV shows and movies are close to incomplete if there’s no LGBTQ character to spot. However, there was a time when representation was not only rare but even frowned upon.
Shows like Will & Grace, Queer as Folk, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer helped break down boundaries and introduce audiences to inclusive storytelling. That further led to non-straight characters gaining more importance in the plots and storylines of different shows. Many shows however deal with the hardships that one faces when one decides to come out. These 30 TV characters according to us had the most wholesome coming-out moment:
On Brooklyn Nine-Nine, when Rosa reached her breaking point and came out to her parents during dinner after they assumed she was dating Jake.
On Shameless, when Mickey fearlessly revealed that he’s gay to his homophobic father and a bar filled with his friends and family
On Sex Education, when Eric made more space in his comfort zone and told his dad that he’s proud of who he is.
