MCU actors, Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield have been great friends for years. Their timeline is filled with several interesting moments with one including the duo getting stuck together. In a Still Watching Netflix interview, the former revealed the hilarious incident when he was yet to debut as Daredevil in the franchise meanwhile his pal was already playing the titular role in The Amazing Spider-Man series.
“A few years before, I got cast as Daredevil, so I wasn’t actually a superhero at the time. But Andrew was playing Spider-Man at the time, and him and I got locked out on a rooftop in New York, and we couldn’t get back in.”
He commented that their moment would become ‘funny’ to people as they portray one of the most beloved superheroes who couldn’t help themselves to get out of that situation.
“And I’ve always thought that that would be really funny to people years later, that two ‘superheroes’ were locked on a rooftop and they couldn’t do anything about it.”
The duo have worked together (not in the same frame though) in 2021’s Spider-man: No Way Home. While Cox made a cameo as Daredevil’s secret identity, Matt Murdock, Garfield reprised his web-slinger role. Before the film’s release, Murdock’s presence was kept tightly under wraps with the duo giving their best to keep the secret safe.

After the Treasure actor’s involvement was reported in Tom Holland’s film, fans started to look for more hints that would confirm those speculations. It eventually led the actor to have a hard time doing press interviews to deflect any questions regarding his presence in the film.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he admitted that he hated lying to anyone about anything but he also made sure to keep the anticipation of fans locked otherwise it would ruin the surprise.
“I hate lying. But I really don’t want to ruin it for anyone. My feeling is if someone asks you, and you say, ‘I don’t know … We’ll have to wait and see.’ That gives it away! It’s obvious! No one is going to say that if you’re not in it. I am relieved it’s over.”
He further mentioned how Garfield and he decided to keep their appearances a secret from anyone. During a lunch together, he recalled,
“While we were sitting down, it occurred to both of us, ‘Oh, sh-t. If we’re filmed here together, that’s not a good sign.’ So we ended up sitting, facing the wall, both of us.”
Their efforts eventually paid off which contributed to the movie’s success. It surged past $1.9 billion worldwide setting numerous records.
