The world of cinema has seen innumerable adaptations of books. Some of these adaptations stuck with the audience while other’s didn’t. Cinema tends to breathe life into well-written characters while adding a flare to the persona of it. Cinema provides life and soul to books, making them immortal. As professionals keep falling back on books for inspiration, there are certain books that deserve attention. These books are well-curated, thought-of, and extremely beautiful stories that deserve to be made into films and displayed on the big screen (or the small screen for that matter). These stories NEED to be told through the lens, and if you keep reading, you will tend to agree. These books are definitely worth the read & worth the risk of an adaptation.

The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan is a very well-known set of books loved by millions around the world. Percy Jackson is about the namesake finding out about his heritage and going on a quest to fight off characters based on Greek mythology.

The two movies based on the books are nothing like the book. A remake of the first two and then a continuation would be loved by audiences if executed just as well as the books are.

She has to fight the evils of society and get past them to live a life of quality. It is an underrated gem, and it would be interesting to watch an adaptation of the same.

A futuristic spin on classic Grimm’s fairy tales follows the stories of Cinder (Cinderella), Scarlet (Little Red Riding Hood), Cress (Rapunzel), and Winter (Snow White) on a mission to save their kingdoms. It is regarded as one of the best sci-fi/fantasy works and it definitely deserves to be made into a movie. Its adaptation would be so worth it. 

The Matched Trilogy

An Allie Condie’s work is highly regarded as one of those books that explores society and its notions. It explores Cassia’s life as she wanders in the rigid version of her life dictated by society, right down to who she spends her life with (Xander is his name). But when Ky’s face flashes in front of Xander’s face (OUCH!), all hell breaks loose. These three together explore the true depths of destiny and choice. It is a heartwarming read, and it would be wonderful to watch the characters come to life in the adaptation.

It is about two performers from the circus who fall in love in the dark of the night, also the only time when the circus comes to life. But their love has consequences deadly consequences. It is an enchanting read, and it will make it an enchanting watch.

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

The book by Gabrielle Zevin is about death and what comes after. It follows the life of a girl after her death in a car accident. The fact that the story is so varied will make for a curious watch.

The A-List Series

This particular set by Zoey Dean follows the uber-rich and glamorous life of Anna Percy and her classmates, all from Beverly Hills. What follows is an intriguing story full of scandal, romance, and parties. It is fun and quirky, and complicated. It would be a perfect binge-watch show.

All the while trying to protect their own secrets. It will be a thriller to watch all this chaos come to life in an adaptation.

A deadly school shooting has the capability to change lives and adjust perspectives. It is exactly what has happened in this Jodi Picoult creation. This book follows the life of Josie, a high school student of Sterling, New Hampshire. It takes a look at before, after, and everything during the Nineteen-minute shooting. It will be interesting to see how these complicated emotions and situations are brought to life if made into an adaptation.

Isabel is confused about who is the right person for her, and it is this confusion that brings this story to life. It is a love triangle to watch out for. The book leaves you with feelings scattered all over the place. It will be a refreshing watch.

Darrow realizes his whole life has been a lie. He realizes that all this time, he has just been a slave of the upper class. He vows to seek vengeance against those who wronged him, especially the class system. It will be refreshing to see a perspective like this on the screens.

If done properly, it would make a heartwarming watch.
