If you ever want certain celebs to make an appearance at your venue, a huge sum of money won’t be the only thing you’ll need. Here are 15 bizarre demands made by celebrities on film sets:
1. Mariah Carey
When Carey was making an appearance on a British morning show, she demanded her dressing room be filled with 12 white Labrador puppies. Trolls were quick to give 101 Dalamations references.
2. Rihanna
During her 2010 World Tour, Rihanna demanded her room to have ‘Archipelago Black Forest Candles’. The promoters were given strict instructions that no other candles should be lit up in her room.
3. Pharrell Williams
Pharrell would often ask for a framed photograph of astronomer Carl Sagan in his vanity van. Initially, his crew did it as a joke because he is a big fan of Sagan but Williams started appreciating the gesture made it a mandate.
4. Jennifer Lawrence
The crew of The Mother made a “Kardashian tent” tent for Jennifer Lawrence so she could de-stress herself. The tent had gumballs, pictures of the Kardashians, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians would play on loop. She called it “my happy place”.
5. Kirk Cameron
Cameron refuses to kiss anyone but his actual wife. All kissing scenes in his films are actually CGI pasted on actresses over his wife.
6. Cher
Wherever Cher goes, she demands an entire room just for her wigs.
7. Jennifer Lopez
Since JLo doesn’t like to be distracted by horrible colors, she ensures her dressing-room rider is white in color with white flowers, white tables, white drapes, white candles, white couches, and tepid water.
8. Gary Busey
While shooting for the film Quigley, Gary refused to film a scene in heaven until the set designers got it right. He claimed to have seen heaven after a near-death experience in 1988 and wanted to portray it accurately. He explained that the placement of the sofas was all wrong, and they needed to get rid of the mirrors – because his heaven had no mirrors.
9. Weird Al Yankovic
You may have noticed that parody artist Weird Al Yankovic often wears funky loud shirts. For a while, his contract rider included a demand for a new Hawaiian shirt at each performance. He had hundreds in his closet before he finally stopped.
10. Jack Nicholson
Nicholson made two very specific demands for his role in The Departed. He wanted a giant dildo included in one of his scenes and a scene where he snorts cocaine off an actress’ bare buttcheeks.
11. Prince
Popstar Prince demanded everything in his dressing room to be wrapped in a cling wrap because he liked unwrapping things himself.
12. Drake
If you ever want Drake to perform at your event, you should be ready with four dozens of Naturally scented incense sticks.
13. Tom Cruise
When Tom Cruise was shooting for War Of The Worlds, he asked for a fully-staffed Scientology tent to be available on the film’s set.
14. Metallica
During their tour in 2004, Metallica band members made an unusual demand about having bacon for every meal.
15. Lindsay Lohan
Lohan made bizarre demands to appear on a Russian talk show after she broke up with real estate tycoon Egor Tarabasov. She said she would only show up if was provided a private jet, a Russian visa, and a meeting with Putin.
