Zoe Saldana Felt “Discomfort and disappointment” While Filming Pirates Movie With Johnny Depp, Claimed “I’m never gonna do this again”

Actress Zoe Saldana has played many iconic roles throughout her remarkable career and one of them was Anamaria in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It was one of her first major film roles that launched her career overnight. The opportunity was huge, however, filming the movie was not a good experience for the actress. It was so bad that Saldana swore to never do anything like that again.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, actress Zoe Saldana talked about her most iconic roles, including the role of Anamaria in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The actress said,

“For Pirates of the Caribbean, I played Anamaria and I really had a not-so-good experience because of just the poor management at that time and Jerry Bruckheimer knows this we spoke about it.”

The role helped Saldana gain recognition and in establishing herself as an actress who is capable of playing complex characters.

Further in the interview, Saldana revealed that the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Jerry Bruckheimer, reached out to her to apologize for the inconvenience,

“I think he [Jerry Bruckheimer] read some somewhere where I had expressed my discomfort and my disappointment and years later, he apologized, which felt really quite honorable but from that experience, I was like I’m never gonna do this again I’m just going to stay in New York.”

The actress joked that it was an honorable experience, but that doesn’t change the fact that the sets were mismanaged. Saldana is sure that she will never do something like this ever again.
