The former in an interview with J-14 opened up about how they were forced to compete with each other outside of their BFF vibes on-screen.
“Zendaya and I were put in a very unfortunate position where we were kind of forced to compete against each other [during Shake It Up], which made the whole first season of the show just very awkward for us.”
The toxic pressure affected the duo in competing against each other. However, they eventually let it go and embraced each other as a close friend ever since then.
