Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ Causes Trouble For James Gunn as DCU Gets Shamed For Awful VFX in “One of the Best Superhero Movies” That Had a $200 Million Budget

It seems that a single teaser and some promotion of Zack Snyder’s upcoming magnum opus has shaken James Gunn’s DCU. With Gunn actively promoting Ezra Miller’s The Flash, the movie received flack for its poor CGI and VFX effects.

Being a person who takes special care for CGI, fans hail Zack Snyder for perfecting animation in his movies despite tighter budgets while dissing James Gunn for actively spending money and creating movies like The Flash.

This was recently seen as Snyder’s magnum opus Rebel Moon recently launched a teaser. Showcasing a very small part of the big picture, the fans were left impressed with the CGI and VFX quality used by the director. Hailing Snyder as an opportunist, people dissed James Gunn who advertised the movie heavily as Andy Muschietti made The Flash with a budget of $200 million and still managed to fail at the CGI levels and animation!

Alongside these tweets, fans were reminded of how James Gunn promoted The Flash beyond compare. Calling it “One of the best superhero movies”, the film failed quite spectacularly as Gunn’s hope for a DCU might just take some more time.

With the internet abuzz with Rebel Moon, people have been asking where Snyder gets his inspiration from. Well, for Rebel Moon, the director named the iconic Star Wars franchise as one of the inspirations but the other was a 1981 adult-animated movie titled Heavy Metal.

“It’s sci-fi fantasy, for sure. I always say it’s sort of Heavy Metal sci-fi in a lot of ways. You know me, you know I’m a huge fan of that illustrated fantasy magazine. And I just like the idea that this movie would exist more in that — there’s a weirdness, a little bit, to the sci-fi, a sci-fi weirdness that I love, where everything’s not that straightforward and it’s a million mysteries. A lot of questions.”

Well, suffice it to say, fans are waiting quite ecstatically as Snyder essentially becomes a third kingdom between the war of Marvel and DC. Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon is slated for a release date of 22nd December 2023.
