Zack Snyder Saves James Gunn’s DCU from Snyder Fans’ Wrath in Rare Olive Branch Move: “Taking my kids to see Blue Beetle”

The anticipation for DC’s upcoming project, Blue Beetle, is quite high. Many have pointed out that the marketing of the movie is quite slow mainly due to the Writers and Actors Hollywood Strike. There is one person who will definitely go to watch the movie, Zack Snyder.

Despite the treatment he received from Warner Bros., Snyder has shown support, encouraging his fans to watch the latest DC movie. Predictions have been made and fans feel like James Gunn’s attempt to introduce the character to the movie audience will be a failure.

Zack Snyder Tweeted about Blue Beetle

Warner Bros needs to do something about the DC franchise as it has witnessed a sharp decline in its popularity. Now, the focus is on their upcoming film, Blue Beetle. Director Zack Snyder recently promoted the film stating that he will watch it. The director tweeted,

“Looking forward to taking my kids to see Blue Beetle. #RepresentationMatters #BlueBeetle”

The movie, starring actor Xolo Maridueña, is all set to hit the theatres on August 18, 2023. The movie also features Bruna Marquezine and George Lopez.

Fans still stand with Zack Snyder

Under Snyder’s tweet, many fans supported the director claiming that he deserved better treatment from Warner Bros for his contribution to the franchise. Many also claimed that the franchise needed Snyder’s help to promote the film.

Zack Snyder created the “Snyderverse,” which included 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Due to a personal tragedy, Snyder had to exit Justice League‘s production, which led Joss Whedon to take over and create 2017’s Justice League.

How Much Will Blue Beetle Earn at the Global Box Office?

After The Flash‘s terrible run at the global box office, Warner Bros is expecting Blue Beetle to attract the audience once again. As per Box Office Pro, the opening weekend is expected to bring in between $12 million and $17 million, which would add up to a domestic box office total of about $27 million.

With the production cost of the movie being $120 million, it is hard to say that Blue Beetle will be able to break any records. However, the movie is expected to earn big at the global box office but will it be more than its production budget? Only time will tell.

Blue Beetle will hit the theatres on August 18, 2023.
