The user commented on Gunn’s post with a unique hashtag. The hashtag that sparked the conversation was “#sellthesnyderversetonetflix.” In response, Gunn stated,

“I have to say, this might be the wackiest hashtag ever since 1) Netflix hasn’t expressed much interest (although we’ve discussed other stuff) & 2) Zack hasn’t expressed such interest & seems content with his current work (and yes, we’ve talked).”

Gunn’s response piqued curiosity among fans who urged him to reveal what he and Snyder discussed. Gunn replied, claiming,

“He contacted me to express his support about my choices. He’s a great guy. Also, he seems genuinely content with the extensive world-building he’s currently involved in.”

Zack Snyder’s contribution to the DC Universe is commendable. The filmmaker has delivered incredible films like Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). Justice League marked Snyder’s last project in the DC Universe. Nevertheless, fans eagerly await his potential return to the franchise.

Meanwhile, James Gunn is set to execute his plan to steer the struggling ship of DC towards success. The filmmaker will soon release his film Superman: Legacy on July 11, 2025. Gunn has touted this as the “true beginning of the DCU.”

The first chapter, titled Gods and Monsters, will include Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Creature Commandos, Paradise Lost, Swamp Thing, and more.

Regrettably, this time, Henry Cavill won’t be seen donning the Superman suit.

With the intention of revitalizing the DC Universe, James Gunn announced the development of his new Superman reboot film. Unfortunately, Henry Cavill won’t be reprising his role as Superman this time. Cavill previously revealed that upon learning about the Superman reboot from Gunn, he expressed regret about not being part of the film anymore.

However, the actor also mentioned that Gunn expressed interest in collaborating with Cavill on a different project. Confirming his departure from the Superman film, Cavill said, ‘My turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman stands for never will.’

Gunn’s upcoming superhero film will focus on a young Clark Kent, embarking on his journey as a reporter for the Daily Planet while in the early stages of becoming Superman.
