Kristen Stewart’s fan following among young adults is a sure-shot indicator of the actor’s superstardom in Hollywood. While the talented star became a household name and entered the big leagues with her role in the Twilight franchise, she began her career much earlier as a child star. Stewart’s notable role in her early days includes the Jodie Foster starrer Panic Room.
But gaining fame at a young age had its disadvantages as well for Kristen Stewart. Education and school were not a bed of roses for the Spencer star, who spoke about the challenges she faced with her peers owing to her career as a child actor in Hollywood.
Kristen Stewart Was Bullied In School For Her Profession
Owing to an early start to her acting career as a teenager, Kristen Stewart quit school at the age of 14 to pursue her love for films. The Twilight actor stated that she was never one to publicize the fact that she was in the entertainment business and welcomed the opportunity to study on set as opposed to going to school. Her decision was also brought on by the reaction of her peers in school who resorted to trolling the star when they found out her profession. Speaking of the challenging times, Stewart said,
“I was never the type of girl to walk around talking about being an actress, so I didn’t get a whole lot of s*** until someone found out. I was playing it down, but I definitely got, ‘Oh, she’s such a b****’ I was like, ‘You’ve never spoken to me, but you think I’m a b****? Great.”
The Snow White and the Hunstman actor went on to add that she did not regret the decision to quit high school or felt that she missed out on college as she believed that her dream of becoming an actor was her main focus.
Kirsten Stewart’s Next Project Is A Powerful Biopic
Hollywood star Kristen Stewart will begin her next venture in which she will portray queer feminist writer Susan Sontag in Sontag, an upcoming biopic with a metafictional twist. The film, which will be shot in a documentary style, will be directed by documentary filmmaker Kirsten Johnson. Elaborating on the project and Stewart’s role, producer Gabrielle Tana said,
“It will be a drama, but with a documentary aspect to it. Kirsten has a wonderful approach to storytelling, and this is reflective of that, so she will use documentary in it.”
Post Twilight, Stewart has been associated with a number of daring and prestigious films that have showcased her powerful acting talent including Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, Still Alice, and Spencer, which earned her an Oscar nod. With the celebrity attempting different types of roles in various genres, it will be interesting to see her development as a seasoned actor in the future.
