Charlize Theron has been working for quite a while now and her career is one that seems to be ever-rising. She has done movies that have brought her into the spotlight and she has worked with actors and directors who are renowned throughout the industry. Her range is explicable and is highly admired by her fans as well.
Being an actress, she is under the light quite often. So it would make sense when fans notice certain changes that others might not expect to. One such change even led to constant allegations against the actress about her features, especially her face, wondering if she got plastic surgery or not. However, the actress has finally addressed the situation.
Charlize Theron’s Thoughts on Plastic Surgery
Charlize Theron had recently been bombarded with questions about her experience. As an actress, any change in her look would be the first to be pointed out. Having physical changes, she is constantly being questioned about whether or not she got plastic surgery. Although the change is rather prominent, the actress denied having done so.
“My face is changing and I love that my face is changing and aging. People think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like ‘B*tch I’m just aging!’ It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.”
Instead, she admitted that her face changing has nothing to do with any surgery at all but the entire lack thereof. She stated that as a 48-year-old actress, undergoing change is only natural for her. She is not only changing mentally but also physically. Her face looks different because of age and that is something she is happily embracing, being rather giddy about what is to come for her in the future. Even though she has not yet gotten surgery, she hasn’t rejected the idea altogether, being open to the concept of feeling pretty in whatever way she feels comfortable.
Charlize Theron Had to Come to Terms with her Age
Charlize Theron noticed changes in her body that she earlier never saw. It was initially something she did not see as a problem but later realized the gravity of the situation. As a younger actress, she could take whatever role she wanted and could lose or gain weight according to the movie’s demand. However, with age, that privilege has also left her.
“I remember a year into trying to lose weight I called my doctor and I said, ‘I think I’m dying because I cannot lose this weight.'” Theron’s doctor later gave her a reason for the same as well, “He was like, ‘you’re over 40, calm down.’ Nobody wants to hear that.”
Her changing metabolism, which her doctor explained, did not support such rapid weight shifting anymore and needed much more time. She even realized that missing days of gymming would only bite her later because of the muscle pain, something she was never used to earlier. Furthermore, she regretted not having a body like her 25-year-old self, reminiscing about the past.
