Well, the people clearly do not want the MCU to pause but MCU star Anthony Mackie seems to think otherwise. In an interview, the actor revealed that the SAG and AFTRA are currently working out a solution. The actor feared that if a compromise between the two parties would not be reached, the actors would go on a strike much like the writers of Hollywood did. And according to Anthony Mackie, the aftermath will be hilarious.

“It’s a shit show if we go on strike. They’re going to have to. Unless they get a bunch of fu*king YouTubers to make ‘Avengers 5’!”

The actor further took a deep dive into the finer details of how the big companies that bought these studios only cared about money and that filmmaking is not about art anymore.

“Once the studios went public and were bought out by major companies, we were fu*ked. It’s no longer about art. It’s no longer about interesting, fun work. It’s about end-of-the-quarter profit sharing. It’s about shareholders. So you’re literally just r*ping and pillaging the industry. It’s cannibalism.”

Mackie does curse quite a lot. But this wasn’t all for the actor since Mackie said that there’s a lot of pressure upon him when his upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World releases. As per the actor, it feels like he is thrown in a pool but he doesn’t know how to swim.

Although he is excited, the actor is also feeling immense pressure for the movie.

“There’s a huge amount of pressure. You throw my dumb ass in the water, and you’re like, ‘Swim.’ I’m like, ‘Sh*t.’ But at the same time, it’s all in the state of mind. I’ve been given a great cast. I’ve been given a great group of people who I’ve worked with before.”

With immense pressure and the SAG-AFTRA negotiations underway, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World is slated for a release date of 26th July 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
