Leonardo DiCaprio Calls this Movie “possibly one of the worst of films all time

There is a reason why Leonardo DiCaprio continues to be celebrated, from the disaster romance Titanic to the greed-fueled mayhem of The Wolf of Wall Street. Apart from the aforementioned, he has appeared in films like Martin Scorsese’s biographical crime drama Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, and The Revenant. He has also ventured into Quentin Tarantino’s vivid postmodern world in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Over the span of his four-decade career, DiCaprio has taken on roles as heroes, villains, and everyone in between with a fearless approach that resulted in many masterpieces. However, Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t regard each movie he’s been in with great pride, despite the incredible reputation his work has attained.

There is one movie in his otherwise remarkable filmography that stands out as a blemish: Critters 3. DiCaprio played Josh in this horror-comedy movie that was released in the early 1990s. He holds such contempt for the film that he once labeled it one of the worst films. The film scored a 0% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This Experience Served as a Lesson

The fact that Critters 3 is probably “one of the worst movies of all time,” as he has previously noted in many interviews, has allowed him to be extremely selective about the roles he accepts so “that this experience does not happen again.”

About this horror film, viewers said- “neither scary nor funny, rather ridiculous and bad” and that “apart from the curiosity of seeing a very young Leonardo Di Caprio, this Critters 3 is not of much interest”.

Leonardo DiCaprio has commented on this film stating:

“I admit I’ve done a few lousy roles in the beginning of my career, like my role in ‘Critters 3’. But at that age, you’ll do anything for attention!”

DiCaprio learned a lifelong lesson from the bad experience he acquired from Critters 3. It greatly explains why he has since exclusively been in high-quality films.
