"You slave-drove him": $162M Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman Movie Writer's Bombshell Scientology Revelations Reveal Cruise Was Never in Control

It seems that after all these years, Tom Cruise’s past is back to haunt the actor. With his close ties to the Church of Scientology and the 1999 movie Eyes Wide Shut in question, Cruise has been alleged of conducting some severe crimes and manipulation techniques on Frederic Raphael.

In his 1999 memoir titled Eyes Wide Open, writer Frederic Raphael talked about his tumultuous working relationship with the late Stanley Kubrick. This drew criticism from Tom Cruise and the feud was reignited years later with Raphael’s latest book titled Last Post.

Frederic Raphael Targeted Tom Cruise And The Church of Scientology!

In his latest book titled Last Post, Raphael talked about working alongside Stanley Kubrick, the backlash that he received from Tom Cruise and several other controversies that Cruise was associated with. With references to the Writers’ Guild and the Church of Scientology, the writer was surely brave enough to write some harsh words.

In his allegations, Frederic Raphael stated that it was Tom Cruise who wrote some very derogatory stuff on his Wikipedia page to give the writer a bad name. Referencing Cruise’s words for the writer, Raphael recalled what the Top Gun actor had said about him back in 1999.

“He [Raphael] wouldn’t have written it if Stanley had been alive. Opportunistic. Self-serving. Inaccurate. I don’t know that man at all and I’ve never met him. It’s been interesting seeing how people have behaved afterwards,”

Frederic Raphael replied in kind in his book by stating that he had never been called a liar by anyone other than Cruise and the Harlan clan. Taking one step further towards controversy, Raphael revealed that although Cruise is an egocentric control freak, he was never in power and it was completely and solely, the Church of Scientology pulling the strings.

In his book, the writer further continued that the choice of Stanley Kubrick to cast Cruise in the lead role was something not motivated by his acting skills. Insinuating that there was a bigger organization’s hand at play, Raphael slyly alleged that the Top Gun actor had no power in the Church of Scientology!

“I have never been called a liar by anyone as I have been by the Harlan clan and by Tom Cruise, an egocentric control freak to whom I have never spoken. He did offer me a job though, soon after you finished shooting; the better to have me on a leash, no doubt. In his turn, he too seems to need the control he finds in Scientology…”

Raphael further continued,

“You slave-drove him for what he cost, and he took it like a man. What do you suppose he ever told the Scientology brass that locked him in hock to them?”

Frederic Raphael’s book was recently launched in the market and is available to buy across the world. As for the 1999 movie, Eyes Wide Shut is available to stream on Paramount+.
