The popular Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson is attached to the Fast and Furious series since its fifth installment. The character of Luke Hobbs has turned out to be one of the best roles of the star in his vast career graph. Johnson has been part of the franchise in almost all installments up to Fast X, however, he was not seen in the ninth installment due to his ongoing feud with co-star Vin Diesel at the time. However, they again become friends and worked together for installment release in 2023. Along with the abundance of love of the fans for the franchise, it seems one of the most reputed directors, Nolan also appreciates the films.
Dwayne Johnson’s Jungle Crusie co-actor Emily Blunt along with Oppenheimer cast Cillian Murphy and Matt Damon, joined Christopher Nolan to talk about their film in an interview with Hollywood Reporter. The stars discussed numerous topics including behind-the-scenes facts, Nolan’s legacy as a director, and more.
It was also revealed that the director is fond of the famous 7 billion franchise, Johnson’s Fast and Furious series.
Emily Blunt said,
”He(Nolan) watches every single movie of every type of genre. You never hear him s**t-talk other people’s movies.”
Oppenheimer director Nolan has several times talked about his liking for the worldwide famous franchise. The latest installment of the film was Fast X, released a few months back.
Christopher Nolan reveals his favorite Fast and Furious film
Christopher Nolan may be fanboying over the Fast and Furious franchise, however, we cannot see its influence in the film. His projects are about complex concepts, while the Fast and Furious franchise is an entertainer with thrilling action scenes, drama, fights, and emotions. Despite the difference, the director is massively impressed by the franchise.
The Interstellar director also revealed that his favorite film from the franchise is Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift for its originality and grandeur. He shared,
“I’ve got a very soft spot for Tokyo Drift, actually. And then the skill as Justin Lin’s iterations, as they got crazier and bigger and crazier and bigger, they became something else, but something else kind of fun. The fun thing about those movies is even as they’ve gotten bigger and bigger and bigger.”
He shared that he loves that 2006 film.
